If I were going to buy coils for my truck I would go with one of the following:

1) Motorcraft DG-511s

2) MSD coils

3) Or get a coil w/ a lifetime warrenty from your local auto parts store.
Such as - Echilen from NAPA or Duralast from Autozone

Yes they were/are. I have a set on the shelf for my next plug change. Reviews were very good on them.

Depends on how much $ you want to spend. I just put the ACCELS on my truck for $220 for all 8. The motorcraft ones were $400+. They fixed my studder while in overdrive, wasn't bad enough to throw a code, but it was sure annoying. All the reviews I've read on the ACCEL coils seem to be positive. So i went with them, so far so great! Time will tell I guess

My truck, 5.4l motor, has about 183K in miles. I was thinking of replacing the coils because of the mileage on them. Seems like good maintence sense. Am I wasting my money? Should I wait till I have a problem before changing them?
