Default Coil pack ans spark plugs

Money guys I'm looking into upgrading my coil packs and spark plugs. Id like somthing to upgrade performance and price isn't too much of an issue. What would be some good ones to go with?

Hi.

There is no perf benefit from any plug or COP over the factory components. Sorry. The stock ignition will about ignite water.

You are looking for reliability - so stick with what works best - Motorcraft.

OEM COPS ( DG-511 ) and SP-515 plugs.

^^^Amen to that! Use Motorcraft plugs and COP's, then invest in a tuner for performance. Maybe a gear change depending on your current set-up and tire size.

Hi.

'04-'08 FX4's could be had with either 3.55's or 3.73's. To be certain of what you have, just look on the driver door jamb sticker and look the code up here: http://www.fordf150.net/howto/decode.php.

If you have 3.55's, a bump to 4.10's would wake it up some. 4.56's would be astounding, lol. Yer tires are heavy I reckon. That may have a significant effect due to rotational mass, static mass and rolling resistance.

On another performance tack - a custom tuned flash programmer would also work wonders ( and is the single bet bang/buck mod you can do to these trucks. SCT X4 recommended form a reputable custom tuning vendor.

Just fyi. I'm assuming yer after some sort of perf enhancements to a stock truck from yer initial post.. Ignition mods ain't it (neither is a WAI nor exhaust).

Money's not an issue for plugs and coil packs. It'd be an issue for a supercharger. Lol

I have Motorcraft SP-515 plugs and ACCEL Coils in my truck. Been running now for about 10k miles and no issues! My truck even sounded better with these! And yes, that is a Throttle Body Spacer, haha! And I have felt a difference in my engine with that as well...

Agree with others Andrew. I just installed Accel COPs with SP515 plugs mainly because of cost and familiarity with Accel products in my other installations (bikes). All of my Ford COPs tested fine after 112K. Waste of $. Plugs were not a waste. I had a mix of the early and later plugs which I understand is basically a different heat range. I have 17x35 Generals on my truck and a Hypertech tuner. Tuner helped a lot. I would still like lower gears. I am fighting a miss and leaning towards injector issues.
