08 headache
I've just about had it with this truck, I've poured in about $9K and the bloody thing still isn't going anywhere, Put a 2010 motor in it with 120K kms motor sounds fine, but there a problem when trying to accelerate under load, It's sounds fuel starved, no guts very slow acceleration, when the engine was changed we swapped out the FPDM just in case since it looked original and quite corroded, I had this acceleration problem with the old motor before the bottom end went on it, checked fuel pressure mechanical gauge reads 20 PSI ignition on motor off and stayed roughly the same motor running,. bought new fuel pump installed, pressure through the roof, maxed out gauge at 100 PSI, , so got another fuel pump again the same, truck idles rough, WTH is going on , what are we doing wrong?? mechanic is a guy with 40 years repairing vehicles, changed fuel pressure sensor on the rail no change.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Sounds like this could be the issue, and nothing you've done would've checked this.

Were any of the timing components replaced on the new engine? New plugs/boots/springs? New/cleaned VCT solenoids? Was the replacement engine actually a good, known, running engine?
Any codes being thrown? If so post them. Throttle body relearn procedure needed to be performed.
These are all items I would have replaced before completing the swap.
Is an '10 engine even compatible with an '08s PCM??? Aren't there different transmissions between the 2?
$9k for an engine swap of a junkyard engine is double the going rate.

That original fuel pressure number seems low. I believe the desired running pressure should hover around 40 psi.
My first thought would be to check the condition of the cats. They can be easily monitored using Torque pro on an android device.
I had no power having both cats partially plugged. Replaced them with Walker direct fits - unleashed a whole new engine. The old ones are also worth ~$50 each if taken to the right recycler.
