Clunk on 04 XLT when wheel is turned hard left
Hi Everyone,
I have a 2005 XLT with 103K miles on it and have noticed lately that when I turn my wheel hard left traveling slow speeds either forward or reverse that when I begin to go back to straight I hear and can feel in the floor board a thunk coming from the front left of the truck. I've just noticed it in the last month or so and it's not incredibly severe but I do notice it.
My truck did have a 2.5" level on the front but I had it removed because I was having trouble with front CV boots tearing from the change in the geometry's angle.
Any thoughts on what I might look at? Hoping it's not too pricey an issue.

You must use 4x4 a lot if your CV boots are tearing off - they only move if 4x4 is engaged, and should have no problem handling the 2.5 lift. Clunk could be loose/broken strut mount bolt, upper or lower control arm, or something of the sort. Jack it up and look for play in the components.
