Default Cloyes Timing Kit

Just a heads up on my experience with this kit. I installed it two years ago and had one tensioner fail about two months ago. The seals were fine where it mates to the block, but there is a seal on the shaft of the tensioner that failed. I tore it down last week and had to replace a guide too because of it. This may be an isolated failure with Cloyes, but thought I would share. I ended up going with the metal tensioners for the 2v.

Good to know; I'd initially ordered the Cloyes kit, but then decided to spend the extra money for the Ford parts, and now I'm more glad I did. I never want to go back in there again.

My Cloyes kit came with Guides that had the Ford numbers stamped on them. Never had a tensioner failure but I did lose a driver’s side guide a few months ago. Everything else looked good when I tore it down.
