Default Quiet at idle but noisy at acceleration

Everything I have heard about cam phasers was they were noisy at idle. My engine is nice and quiet at idle. Could this still be cam phasers?

What kind of noise are we talking about ? A rattle, a whine, a bogging sound ?

Ticking sound on acceleration? If so, it's likely a leaky exhaust manifold.

It does sound like an exhaust manifold leak to me as well. If it is a small leak, the tick will normally go away when the manifold gets hot because the metal kinda seals itself. Unfortunately, I too have a passenger side manifold with a good size leak that I am waiting for cooler weather to change. Hopefully it stays hot for a while because I am not really looking forward to the pain of changing it. Good luck, see if you can stand next to the front of each wheel well and see which side its coming from or pinpoint it.

Are you sure it's ticking and not a slight rattle ?
