Default Cleaning the Throttle Body

Here is before pictures of my 2006 F150 5.4L throttle body. The truck has 194k on it.

Let's see how clean I can get it!

Not bad! What'd you end up using? I've got carb/intake cleaner and QD electronic cleaner for the MAF, not sure which is best to use here.

They make specific TB cleaner. I do mine along with the maf once a year. CRC TB cleaner and CRC MAF cleaner are what I use.

CRC TB cleaner, helps preserve the factory coating commonly used on Ford TB's. Soft toothbrush works well

I used about 2/3 a can of the CRC Thottle Body and Air Intake cleaner.

Then while it was off I went ahead and cleaned the MAF sensor too.

Both worked really well!

I just took it for a test drive and wow!

I noticed more power. The idle is now higher, was around 500, now 700. The rough idle that I had, is almost all gone!! I wouldnt have thought that was all due to the TB and MAF!!
