Same story--same truck-- '07 5.4 Lariat. Ford took care of it with a new engine at just over 36,000 miles. No Fuss No Arguments. 40,000 miles on it now and it runs really good. Changed the oil after 3,000 miles and it seems like the gas mileage has gotten much better since the oil change. A different recommendation tho from my dealer---they said a synthetic blend would be fine and 4,000 miles between changes.

This is awesome for all those where the engine screwed early because of this fault but how about us who have only 60000 still a low mileage... They should help out the people without warrenty if its the same issue

My truck is going into the dealership tomorrow we will see what happens.. if it needs a new engine its gonna have to sit in the lawn for a good while... Just got laid off... Maybe will need to buy a beater car sweet 400 dollar payment will sit there... But maybe I'm just planning for the worst

Right you are fend2ride... Talk to your dealer. It is a known issue and you'd think they want to keep the customers happy.
Sorry to hear about the lay off....
They wont do a recall---all the F150s on the road--they would end up replacing too many with marginal issues.
