Default Cats or plugs

So I'm at a loss. First off 2006 5.4 77000 miles have replace plugs three months ago with motorcraft plugs put new boots on the coils replaced the coils on the cylinders with codes on also have replaced the fpdm. Check engine light coming on and blinking while under load pulling a hill or accelerating to traffic speed. Trucks bucks n sputters no *** at all. Had a a random misfire code for a long time before I could afford to fix it. Is it the cats? Or something else? Really at a loss looking for advice direction, anything that will help. Thanks for any advice

look at the codes and see what cylinders are producing the codes...swap known good COP to that cylinder ...you stated you only swapped out a few COP's ...maybe its time for the rest...it could also be like you said a clogged cat...take a drive and get up to operating temp shut her down and crawl under and look at your CAT's if they are glowing red hot..thats your problem.

I'm thinking COP's as well, but these guys are on the right track. The quickest check would be like techrep says, check the cats first.

Ok so when the codes came back running terrible barely going 20 mph I check for codes p0301 and p0301 pending the same cylinder that was missing before. Day old plug and coil!!!! So I just cleared the codes and since then nothing runs better then before but I still hear a faint skip at low speed an Rpms around 1000 rpm and no more then 10 miles an hour n then I hear it again when I put my foot thru the floor at 70 mph at 4 grand. But not even close to as bad as before. I haven't had the chance to swap plug n cop with another cylinder. It's got me wondering if its a injector. I do notice a pretty loud tic now at an idle. It had a tic before but not this loud. So looking for more advice should I still swap or search for something else? Thanks for patience n help

Check and Make sure your plug is torqued. Ask me how I know. I changed out Plugs and doing the COPS as they go. I developed a Top end tick and when I went to check my plugs 2 had backed out and needed to be torqued back down.

With bum plugs I could here the miss under WOT at high RPMs.

Have you re-checked to see if other cylinders are giving codes?

The miss at high RPMs sounds like plugs or COPs. But fuel starvation might be it also.

Do what CT said and keep cking codes. Ut could s number of things but you don't wsnt to change parts you dont need

Im not familiar with cam phaser issues but a tick can b associated with it.

Check out subject dedicated to it

Really hope it's not cam phasers. I think we can eliminate the cats cuz I don't think I could have WOT n do 70 with no problems. I will check my plug torque. Are there any special tools needed to replace the injectors? Would the cam phasers cause a misfire?

Keep marking parts off the list before addressing cam phasers.

Keep cking for codes (misfire, lean cylinders, etc)
Confirm that its not COP's, fuel issues etc before moving on to something else. Keep us posted
