Default catalyic converter

I have an 05 f150 and wanted to know if I take the catalyic converter off would it damage my trucks motor

it won't damage it but it is against federal law. And you won't past any emission testing

1) It's not legal, as far as Fed Regs go
2) You'll more than likely throw codes

Shouldn't damage anything, but I still wouldn't do it

In the parish I stay in it doesn't take emissions test when I get my inspection sticker

No, but it's (A) illegal and (B) won't really do anything. The idea that removing a cat will help your performance these days is pretty much untrue. We've come a lot farther with air flow technology than where we were even a few decades ago. I assume performance is your goal?

From what I understand, in a vehicle equipped with O2 sensor, it could actually hurt performance by a small amount. Correct me if I'm wrong
