CAT Delete - HOLY CRAP!
Decided to delete the two cats I have on my truck today and holy crap it's loud. Knew it would be loud but wow. Supercharged 5.4 with true duals, cat delete and x pipe. I will post a video but now want to get it toned down a step or two. Any thoughts? It sounded nice before with the cats but was hoping for louder without cats just now farm truck *redneck loud* no offense.
Weird thing is I haven't thrown any codes yet even though I should have a new tune tomorrow.
The muffler shop mentioned adding a small muffler maybe with built in x pipe to soften the sound. Anyone have any recommendations? Exhausts are tough because it's all personal preference. Done some you tube searching and like the sound of the borla xs (I believe it is) with my setup.

Yea, put the cats back on. You gain nothing in performance, other then pissing off your neighbors.
In the U.S., it's illegal to run a vehicle without them (Federal law), and illegal to sell or trade in a vehicle without them. A dealer makes you sign a paper when you trade it in that states all federally required equipment is on the vehicle. If you sell it outright, even an "as is" clause in a contract will not protect you if the buyer wants to reverse the contract because they are missing.

Obviously I'm not worried about federal law and I'm not trading anything else which is why I had no problem removing them. WOT performance is actually better but your correct you lose a little low end. Adding a muffler or straight through will actually give some of that loss back to me. Was just curious if anyone had a similar setup and what they did. Leaning towards doing a muffler with built in x pipe.
