Ok, so my friend n i have the exact same truck, just different color. we are undecided whether going 50/50 on a Diablo Sport Predator (or anything similar/comprable to it) or each getting an Edge New Evolution chip/computer thing...they both are around about the same price, only that if we get anything bsides the edge, its gonna b 50/50 since we have the same engine...what do you guys think we should do, what would be best? the only thing our trucks have is exhaust, but we plan on doing intakes and other things later....thanks

performance wise, also the edge would be the best for the truck/bang for the buck, cuz there is a site that has it going for 374 brand new, shipped...instead of 500 plus shipping give or take at other places...now, say i were to go with diablo, superchips or granetelli...what do u guys say....everyone out there, what do you guys have/have had experience with?

Do Not split a Diablo Sport 50/50
Ok...so when you say you would go 50/50 on anything but an EDGE, do you mean to say that you and your friend would buy just one Diablosport, for instance, and split the cost?
If that's the case, it's not going to work out. The Diablosport Predator can only be "married" to one vehicle at a time. You can't install a tune on your truck and then use it on your friend's truck, even though they are the same. You must first reload the truck's original factory tune on your truck before the Predator can be used on a different vehicle. I believe other tuners don't have this limitation...but beware if you purchase a Predator with the intent of sharing it with a buddy.
I have a Diablo Sport Predator for my 07 Lariat SCREW. Not having used any other tuner, I can't make a comparison. But I can tell you that the Diablosport definitely wakes up this truck when using the 93 octane performance tune. On this tune, I have great throttle response and even at highway speeds, I have a noticeable passing gear/extra power that wasn't there before.
I'll also mention that while traveling from North Carolina to New York City, I installed the base 87 octane tune and noticed that fuel efficiency improved greatly when speedo was kept under 70mph. Mind you, I do have a Volant CAI and an Extang RT low-profile tonneau cover (which helps MPG)...but combined, these 3 mods gave me average fuel comsumption of 19MPG when cruising at 65-68mph. I consistently got just under or right at 18mpg when cruising between 70mph and 75mph. (Calculations where done on my own..not based on the message center.)
I have heard great things about the EDGE and on some forums, I have read heated debates on why one is better than the other. I say you can't really go wrong with either. You'll definitely see the performance gains on both and they will be noticeable. Especially if you have other performance mods in place.
I didn't care for EDGE pod and preferred the DiabloSport because I can just plug it in, put it away and there's no physical trace of a tuner when taking the truck for service. I also got mine for around $319 which was hard to beat. Other EDGE owners say it's easy to remove the EDGE pod...so this might not be an issue.
Anyway...rambling now...hope this helps some.

He is right. Any tuner you get will be VIN locked to your vehicle. I like the X-Cal as most ppl on here know. If you install the Edge it does look great in the cab, but if you have to take it for service under any warranty how hard is it and is it worth it to have to remove it. Now remember if you are not changing your own oil any tech working on your truck will see the tuner and know whats up if something goes wrong. If I see a tuner installed on a vehicle that comes in the shop I am not going to hide it or lie to the warranty company about it. The X-cal is plug and play, as is the Diablo and the Hyper...I have used the Hyper and felt the diff with a Diablo. Seat of the pants dyno the X-cal gave the best feel. I have never ridden in an Edge tuned truck, I will admit, but I have read ALOT of horror stories on them and that is why I shy away from them.
