Late 07 trucks and all 08's are prewired for puddle, heat and turn, assuming that you already have at least power mirrors. Before that you have to switch around wires. Not sure what the configuration is, but there are TONS of posts on here for that issue. In order to activate the heat function you have to have rear window defroster, if you don't then you are gonna do some wiring and adding of stuff to get that to work. Hope that helps....

As far as the heat, I was told that since I didnt have it, I would have to add all the controls to make it work.

Good Luck on this project...
Yeah look on your door connector for the mirror and look at the wires. Find a diagram of what the wire colors are of so you can see if you have the wires in there already. I didnt have signal mirrors on my truck, and then when I put my tow mirrors on the signal wires were already in the door.

The heated mirror function is going to be a project if you dont already have the heated back window function. If you dont, then you will need a new fuse box and a new switch for the heat function. Each, last time I heard were over 100 bucks apiece.

D.turelli,

Did you find a way to get the mirror with the signal working?? I just bought mine, and I am planning to make the switch next weekend.

I just upgraded to tow mirrors last week from power only, and I had all the wiring for power, turn, and puddle lamps.....even for heat (still need some other things to make that work, factory climate control and fuse box).... Mine was built 7/07.....

How did you move your pins? I having am issue that I believe can be solved by doing this. I got in a minor accident a while back and bought a replacement mirror of craigslist. I have an 08 f150 fx2 with turn signal mirrors. The ones I bought of craigslist were from an 05, also with turn signals. When I installed the new (used) mirror the turn signal doesn't work and I noticed that the pins are different from my old broke one. I figured by moving the pins to match my old one I could get the signal working but I don't want to damage it.

Default 2013 XLT tow mirror upgrade

I recently bought a 2013 F150 XLT and want to upgrade to tow mirrors. The mirrors I have are power but not heated, and don't have turn signals. I found some on Ebay for $150 that are power but have turn signals, flood lamps, and are heated. I'm not interested in the other functions, would they still function as normal power mirrors?
