Question Camshaft Position Sensor

I have an 06 5.4L Triton and it has started misfiring. Took it to Autozone Advanced and had the codes read. They both said cylinder 3 and 7 are randomly misfiring. Autozone suggested replacing the Camshaft Position Sensor. It looks fairly easy to do. Could this be the culprit of my problems? Sick of going to these "honest" shops wanting to charge me $1000 everytime the see my Big Truck roll in. Help.

Address the misfires first. Inspect the COPs, boots and plugs on the suspect cylinders. If they look good, swap COPs over to good cylinders and see if the problem follows. That should be a good start.

Maybe it can, but troubleshooting by swapping ignition parts between cylinders is a free way to collect more data, and either rule out or verify component failure.
