I'd honestly replace the brake lines too. I had a similar issue, and after replacing the caliper I figured out I must have kinked the brake line. D'oh.

That was my fear on only doing one side. I had this problem just last week. I would turn hard to the left and the right caliper would make a terrible noise. Once I got it off the piston was worn out and the rubber ring was torn off. This ended up damaging my bearing as well. So I asked the same question, "what if I just did one side?" The answer was a brake pull. So I opted to do both sides with rebuilt calipers and one new hub and a set of pads. Aside from the typical vibration when stepping on the brake for not using Motorcraft, I am good to go.

OK, I ordered calipers just in case, of course they wont be here till next week and that is a problem in the event i have to change them, as I need this truck to be operational. Going to be a problem, I fear - part of me just wants to replace friggin everything - rotors calipers, pads and lines. I have all of the stuff ordered, but damn the time frames are driving me nuts and I still dont know if the parts I got were any good.

I have used the search function to discover the "best" rotors and calipers within reason - short of Motorcraft (which are 3 times more than any other maker), and unless I wanted/needed "super rock hopper giant calipers made of unobtanium and unicorn horn" with some name like "Xtreme Awesome F-In Caliper" for $500 bucks a corner, I didnt really have any luck. I bought Centrics, just because I have the RWD Front Centric conversion on the list to change up the front hub-in-rotor nonsense of this truck, and figured I would put Centrics all round, but I doubt that they are the best here - any ideas?

Default Never had another problem after using rebuilt calipers

Over 100 k on them and never stuck again and I have changed pads and rotors . Even tho I drove thru salt water flood in several hurricanes . I do think I will change all the brake fluid soon as she is at 173k .

Anymore from experience if I do a caliper I always do the hose to, kill 2 birds one stone, if Im cracking the system and having the mess might as well for how cheap they are. At times if I replace a hose I really look at the condition of the caliper, but due to some can be really pricey weights in to.

I am not entirely sure why my post ended up in this thread, sorry to try and hi-jack - I have a thread on my rear crunching disk problem.

Still looking for a caliper quality answer though, and a suggestion on how to keep changing out the rear brakes lines and calipers from being an ungodly mess?
