haha won't he be sad when he sees it!!

maybe i need to go talk to him about it again cuz it sounds like i'm talkin out my . (Certainly not trying to though).

he said something like this...

CAIs (which pull cold air i know and have special boxes to shield from heat... i know) just pull in lots of air no matter what. he said that's awesome but sometimes you don't need all that air and it will actually throw off the fuel/air mixture a little too much. (my roomate just said it might be called a MAFS a.k.a. mass air flow sensor). anyways, neighbor guy told me it would control how much cold air is actually thrown into my engine based on how fast i was going and how fast i was accellerating.

i'll go talk to him again and get my straight.

you already have a Mass Air Meter, it measures air flow into the engine...so thats a given....next, your neighbor is fulla****, the well designed and tested intakes available do a job and do it well. Most will require a tune to compensate for the airflow, but thats a given as the newer Ford EEC, like I already said is very sensitive to airflow changes and an experienced tuner, such as the Bamachips guys, Justin@VMPTuning, and Mike Troyer already know this and have the tuning database to get a stoichiometric fuel/air curve which whatever CAI you use.

Any increase is better than none in my book. As I said, your mileage will be different than mine. But, since I didn't have to pay for the device, and it does increase fuel mileage on my truck, I say it's worth it.
I never suggested anyone buy one. I only stated my personal and continuing experience with it.

in my opinion, if the throttle response is improved by a tbs its worth doing no matter if it adds gas miliage or not.
