A/C not what it should be,

Living on Central Florida, and working four years in the Dallas area, I got my share of warmer A/C functionality. A finally bit the price bullet and installed an E-Fan setup on a 2005 I owned. When I sold the 2005, I removed that setup, and put it in my current 2007. A huge difference in the A/C function. I don't know if the 2004 to 2008's had a problem with the condensor (too small perhaps with the R134 Freon), but putting in a stronger fan then the stock e-clutch setup made a huge difference, especially during idle conditions. The stock fan for these year trucks simply does not pull enough air through the condensor.

I'll avoid going into details on who's controller is best, as it will simply stir up some issues (DC-controller made a good one, but the owner of that unit has issues). I use a Flex-o-lite controller. It handles the 40 amp initial start up draw of the Mark VIII fan, and allows for several options (fan run after engine off, temperature adjust for on, and fan off when the E-Fan "feels" wind resistance - when vehicle is running over 30 MPH and would not need the E-fan running). It also allows for the high speed to activate when the A/C is turned on (uses the A/C compressor clutch wire as the trigger.
That fan is now well over 12 years old in my ownership, and as I stated, I bought it used, so no telling how old it really is. I bought a new electric motor for it, (40 bucks), but have yet to have to install it.
Total investment for it all is less that $125.00. There are great kits out there, but at a much higher cost. The Mark VIII installs within the stock radiator shroud.

x3 on LA's totally awesome.
We have some pretty rough days down south. Last year we had a lot of high humidity days with indexes above the 110's.
