Buying Used 04+
So Im selling my stang for a truck.
Ive been on a fence over ram 1500 vs f150 and have decided f150 even if its more expensive.
Now Im having to choose between scab 4x4 or screw 2wd(compromising sucks).
Anyways what are issues to look for on used 5.4L?
Any usual/unusual sounds. I know about cam phaser(kindsa like the sound lol)

Check if spark plugs have been changed (that's the big one), the VCT's are known for failure, passenger side manifold is common for cracking and/or leaking. The bendix in the starter in the odd case can become stick causing grinding of the flywheel, rear end pinion gear can howl but doesn't cause damage, in 05 the injectors can stick open causing hydro locking, third brake light is known for leaking. That pretty much sums up the majority issues lol

2005 XLT F150
I changed a 8 without any broken by hand. Be slow and persistent worked back and forth listen for the creak when removing is good thing . No creak. Gonna snap off .. took me 2 hrs. .. happy its done

The only problem I'm having is window switch and lack of money. (05scab 4wd)
