Default Bumpers...paint or powdercoat?

I just got my SCREW and will be slowly cleaning it back up to a good truck. It was "modded" by the previous kid but very cheaply done and a few questionable choices.

It currently has a roll pan in the back and I HATE roll pans. I'm leaning towards an eBay bumper but I want to go ahead and do FX4 style body colored. Would paint or powdercoat be better? Powdercoat wouldn't have the brilliance of paint, but the truck isn't brand new looking either. But would black powdercoat on a black truck be crappy looking? I'm also going to get a new front bumper since mine is dented pretty good. So same question for the front.

Whaddya guys think? I'm leaning towards powdercoat. Durable and easy to clean. But will it look wrong?

Any help is appreciated! Pics would be an added bonus!

Kyle

I painted mine with duplicolor bedliner in the blue rattle can, I love the texture and look. Was cheap and easy to do

i second the spray on bedliner, did that with my truck and it worked flawlessly, just make sure u cover up so there is no overspray. For me i uses Rustoleum's bed liner with exceptional results.

I left the bumpers on, just taped everything off around it. And no I sanded them with 60 grit then cleaned with acetone then sprayed about 3 coats. One thing to get is the red handle thing that goes on the top of the can for spraying, makes it a lot easier and saves your finger from gettin tired!

Is your truck black or green? How's the contrast in real light between the two textures? Did you do the whole bottom of the truck or just the bumpers?

That's the one thing I'm worried about is the contrast being too different.

It's black. And the contrast is fine, I did one more layer on it and a light coat to even it out so those spray marks aren't in it any more. I did the bottom, around wheel wells, and both bumpers. And it's a good contrast, it's flat black with a texture to it

Powder coat is hands down the best way to do it but the only problem is it can only go on metal so I hope you don't need anything plastic done. But powder coat wins in every way
