Default Bull Bar, what are your thoughts?

Plan on getting a bull bar on my 05 f150. Im not looking to actually use it for off roading but really just for appearence. Also in an accident it could come in handy. What are you guy's thoughts on getting a bull bar/grill?
Thanks.

I have never liked the look of a bull bar, if you want it for an apperance look get a light bar that you can put some lights on. I have a smitty built on my truck with 4 LED Pods. You can do what ever you would like since its your truck though.

I'm another who doesn't care for them. They seem to make a truck look like it's owned by an older gentlemen.

i have seen several bull bars around these parts. from what i can tell it has to not be just an add on but it has to tie it self in to the whole look of the truck. i would not just put a bull bar on. maybe if i had running bars/nerf bars.

I have a stainless steel Westin on mine. I wasn't going to get one, but got an amazing eBay deal on one so I ended up putting it on. It has really grown on me! My truck has the OEM stainless running boards and a silver tool box, so it does tie in a little better than most. Just my opinion, take it for what it is.

It's all personal preference bud. I think a full on brush guard is ugly on most trucks but offers great protection. From my experience, most people on this forum don't care for the look. I love mine and it saved my front end when I hit a deer. But I agree with YOUNTtheMODEST, it has to tie in with the theme of the truck.

I actually kind of like the one acdiecast has. It sits closer to the truck, unlike the one posted above, which sticks way too far out.
As for helping in an accident, I've always seen bullbars, and brushguards do more damage when they get pushed back into the truck and fenders. And correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you lose your tow hooks?

Thank you! It has grown on me quite a bit, considering I wasn't really going to put one on in the first place. And yes, you do lose your tow hooks but a tow strap with a decent hook will usually work well enough in the front.
