Default Brighter lights

I am in Alaska and man does it get dark. What light bulbs are you guys using that are brighter than stock???

I am not interested in a HID retro fit or HID at all right now. Unless it's relatively non-expensive.

What about higher wattage bulbs? Suggestions?

Look at the Silvania Silverstar bulbs. They are direct replacement bulbs and are brighter and whiter than stock. I have them in both of my trucks and they are great.

I already use the sulverstars in the fogs and headlights. Looking for brighter. Thanks for the input though.

There are LED retrofit kits which last almost forever and "supposedly" save gas due to the much lower amp draw. I know LED's also have a much tighter beam due to their design. I think I saw them for $80 a pair here in Calgary.
Very bright as well!

In that case I would install a set of high output moose lights somewhere on the front of the truck.

You know anyone that has used them? Rating from actual use?? Recommended brand or site for purchase?

As to the moose lights, I have thought about it but you have to turn them off with oncoming traffic. I am really looking for a solution for the headlights.

I have also considered led "moose lights" but those mount in the bumper which I like but they are around $900 here in Alaska. I would like to spend a lot less $$$ then that.

What about 6" fogs attached to a grille brush guard or bull bar? Complete setup for the grille guard and lights cost me <$200, all the parts can be found on eBay. Set-up was cheap enough I'm thinking about switching over to a bull bar instead. I'm running 100 watt bulbs in them. Bright as hell. Illegal for on-road use, but who gives a S-H-I-T.

I'm sure summit racing or jegs would have the LED lights listed. You could try the place here in Calgary if you wanted, it's called JB's power centre. They're listed online. Might be cheaper shipping from Canada to Alaska than from the states.
There's a guy on here that just installed them, do a search....
I think he said he installed 7w bulbs and they were super bright

Cool thanks!
Yeah I am not a fan of bull/push bars with moose lights. I like the front end clean. I will look into finding jb's online. Thanks again.

There is a guy Jon on here that sells HID very cheap w a warranty I believe. Around $60 for fog and $80, I think, for jig or low beam. He has very good deals.
