Default Brakes make sound only when pressed hard

My rear driver side brake has started to make a very loud, sharp squeal. It only happens when I press the brakes firmly. If I gradually slow to a stop it never makes a sound. This squeal is very short duration and isn't constant, although it will happen about 4-8 times before the truck comes to a stop.
Kinda like a bird chirping, just way louder. It hurts my ears a little if the windows are down.

I have drilled/slotted rotors from Powerstop front/rear but I can't remember what pads I'm using. The pads are only a few months old and look to have plenty of thickness left.

Anybody got any ideas on what this might be?

Was everything lubed properly prior to install? We're the rotors new or machined when the pads were installed? If no, start there. If yes, could be a bad spot in the pad surface/rotor surface.

If the pads you used are metallic, this is why. May want to switch to ceramic.

Or semi metallic at the bare minimum. Metallic pads are cheap in the short run, but they'll cost you a rotor eventually.

Default Ceramic pads

I just looked back at my order and I do have ceramic brake pads. I'm pretty sure I lubed everything when I installed them, but maybe not. Is there some reference so I can go back and make sure?

Would some kind of debris make that sound if it was stuck somewhere?

It's weird cause it's still making the noise, but not as bad or as often. I'm not sure if the problem is going away or if I'm just driving differently.

Brakes are easy... why not just take them apart, clean, re-grease, and reinstall? You can rule out a bunch of stuff by just doing that.
