x 2 bucko/keif -

you can check out this website - this guy, Chris Duke did a video on how to change brake pads on a ford mustang. I give you this only an overview of what generally has to be done. This is obviously not a ford f150 and obviously the procedure while similar will vary in details and a real manuel should be consulted. Not sure what experiance level you are but even a person with no major mechanical background can do brakes with a manuel.

http://www.motorz.tv/blog/1129/ford-...-installation/

good luck then.

And just for the record my wife has learned to change vehicle parts, almost two years ago, she's done brakes, plugs, wires, radiator, cooling, battery and hoses, with research, a haynes manual and asking what she didn't know....she was able to do it on her own.....point being man/woman black/white or michael jackson (mix of a all) i take offense to the excuse that your a "women" it doesn't matter.... if you are interested in learning to do something...and do something yourself that is all you need to have - the willingness to want to do something not the common crutch providing reasons why you "can't do something" to receive special treatement....

like they say a persons most limiting factor is themselves!

Hey guys I think this brake thread is getting out of hand! It sounds more like bashing than anything else. I think we're all here to share and help each other. At least that's what I thought the site was for. Give her a break!

I'm not bashing anyone at all. I'm known (and admit to) for writing long winded responses/explainations to a question; as an instructor by trade, I guess it's just habit. I would however draw the line when it looks like an answer would take pages to explain. My feeling was a $24.00 book would be a perfect purchase for anyone that wants to take on repairs such as brakes. These repair guides are best for just this type of thing; they have pictures, detailed steps, and describe any special tools that are required, or make the job easier.

I found this advertiser right here on our forum. For $19.95 a year, you can get Chiltons manual proceedures for DIY type repairs:

I should pay more attention to this sites advertisers!

Not particularly bashing anyone, simply explaining, yes a bit harshly, that I don’t appreciate people 1) basically declaring they want a step by step answer to a rather lengthy process. Refer to bellow quote:

(“I'm wanting to do the brakes on my ford f-150 2005 4x4 front and back can someone give me a full detailed step by step process to do this so i don't mess anything up.
Thanks alot.”)

May just be one of those tone of text things but the question sounds pretty demanding to me

2) People using their sex as a leverage tool, and that you can't throw around the fact that you are a women just because some one told you to buy a manual and didn't give you the answer you wanted. (Refer to the following quote):

(“bucko you don't need to be an @$$ about it. i'm a woman and with a tight budget.”)

As I have previously stated it doesn’t matter what your sex, race, creed, or color is, we (all of us on this forum) read what is written on the page, and then respond, not a whole lot of room to form a biased opinion based on what someone writes on the pages of a thread. You all know as well as I do that questions like this have come up before, and will come up again, and will more than likely be answered similarly.

If I offended any one I apologize, not my intention. Unfortunately this is a case of one person being used as an example, I am not trying to “bash” her. What I have written goes for every single member of this forum, male and female.

This is what bothers me sometimes that everyone has become so "sensitive" that we sugercoat truth as opposed to just calling it constructive critism, while i too meant no degredation this example has just that become an example of items that come up from time to time in this forum.
