Finally finishing my blackout project, but wondering how far to go. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do all of the plastic trim and coals, but I noticed paint peeling from the front plastic hood piece. I'm denYing about doing the entire surround as well as grill and emblem. Has anyone done that before?

yes. the key is to take your time and make sure it's completely dry between coats especially on the grill.

I'm probably going to remove the whole thing fir the evening and do it overnight. I've seen people just clean them with alcohol or Windex, correct?
