Preventing Rust?
Here in Ontario they love to dump tons salt with some other corrosive **** to eat away at your car whenever there's an inch of snow. What would be the best way to prevent rusting?.
I hate seeing rust develop on my Florida imported truck, I've already had it covered from Krown with "petroleum based rust preventative" but all of it seems to have rubbed-washed off less then a year after it was done.
Are there any other more long term effective methods like rubberized paint.
Something like this maybe?

They all wash off and in salt areas require yearly applications.
Crown and Rust Check seem the best

DIY
my jetski was like new after 6 years and 200 hours and playing always in the ocean.... how? after each ride, i hose it down (an inside the engine, not required in the truck) using a product called salt away, then after it dry, i used products like corrosion-x, wd-40, and stuff like that. so far, im using corrosion x in my truck and if i get a lot of that salt they put to dissolve the snow, i will clean my truck and reapply it.

I pay some guy to crawl under my truck and spray it with oil every fall. I get all my friends together at one time so we get a group discount and the guy spends a day there.

i used to just wash my truck really well once a week in the minnesota winters and make sure to get the areas that really like to rust out (doors wheel wells tail gate etc)
