actually BUCKO the ones shipped up north will not have them unless someone else said factory installed or they are installed at the dealer ship, but now mine was installed by my dad who has owned it b4 it has gotten passed down so just saying that any trucks cars suv or anything else like that will not have them installed already, unless installed by the factory but most factorys will not install them untill they get up to the north and if the dealership wants to install them they will install them but most people up north buy vechiles without the box installed and have to go back to the dealership and says hey i want this put on to this and they will do it for you

OK I am going to disagree.. maybe its like that in Alaska.. But I have yet to finde a vehicle sold from the dealership in Alberta (Canada) that does not have the block heater installed.. its not a dealer option here.. they all just have them... and I would have thought it was the same up there because if its that cold here its colder there rite??????

For them not to be installed up north in my opinion is just a dealership money grab..

a block heater is an OPTION on all 2004-up f150's they are installed at the factory on the line as the engine is built. dealers may put them in also but the factory heater has the plug right in the front by the trans cooler. should not have to search for it.

the job i am currently on is where the freeze plug gets knocked out and the heater gets put in.

most of them do get sent to the northern climates but it really depends on how the truck is ordered either by the customer or the dealer.

I bought my '07 in Hawaii and am now in Germany. Does anyone know where I can purchase an engine block heater for my truck? Any idea how difficult they are to install?

what you can do is go to an automotive place or sone where that sells auto parts and ask for one and they should have one, if they dont they aint a real auto store
