Blinker/tail light problem

Blinker/tail light problem
Hi, I have an issue with my right rear blinker and brake light not functioning on a 2007 F150. I already tried replacing the blinker bulb. Both the blinker and brake light are out, but the running light works. I talked to a mechanic friend and he said it is probably the ground wire. Could anyone suggest where I should check the ground for this circuit or potential problem spots might be? Thanks.

If the ground were faulty, you wouldn't have any tail lamp either. If it's not the bulb or the fuse, it's probably the multi-function switch, AKA turn signal switch.

Not sure if this is related to the problem, but I recently had the blower motor fail and had to replace the resistor behind the glove box. This new brake/blinker light problem started immediately after I replaced the resistor, which seems to point to some common issue.
