Blacked out emblem.
I have a 2006 f150 and I want to blackout the emblems. Any suggestions on how to do it without scratching, or ruining truck? Should I remove emblems or do it on the truck?

Mask around the emblem and Plastidip it. Best way.

i just taped mine and painted them, they came out nice and didnt get any pain on my truck, than i got the "new" ones off the 2010 and painted them with the "black crome" and they look great (because of buying them i painted them off of the truck because i could and that was really easy to do) if you take them off you might have to buy new "glue" or the dubble sided tape crap

Like he said, plasti dip is best, cheap, easy, durable, and can always be taken off.

if you are talking about the ones that say f150, then just mask around and put newspaper around , just in case any paint particles fly. I used plasti dip on mine and didnt take off the emblems from the truck. I first cleaned them with alcohol and did around 4 coats waiting 15 minutes between each coat.
this is how they came out, I then decided to do an inlay, I was surprised the Vinyl decals stuck to the plasti dip. http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/photo5-3.jpg |
