Black FX4 rims?
#11
I've been thinking about painting mine, especially since I own a shop with a paint booth. My only hesitation is that I don’t want to remove my tires from the rims.
For those considering painting them as a DIY project, try using some metal etching primer under your regular primer. That stuff is the BEST and will help the finish hold up better!

I had mine painted black, but left the center cap stock, then peeled the plasti dip off and seeing your picture makes me want to black them out again.
What do guys think?

I put tape down into the cover where the Plastic lig but covers were and painted them. The red pinstripe was a little time consuming. I actually just took a small paint brush and painted the very edge.

poweder coated rims
I just had some rims powdercoated black for $250. It was supposed to be $200 but these rims had corrosion all over them and needed extra time on sandblasting. From what I've read, powdercoating is 10X stronger than paint. The $200 quote was the same from multiple places in my area. I was told tires needed removed for this process.
As for your factory rims, if you like them, just plasti-dip or use spray on bedliner. I know a lot of people who use the spray on bedliner and they RAVE about how great it is. (they did it without removing tires).
Just depends how much you want to spend.
