Biggest Tires i can put on stock rims???
 

I have a 2006 F150 4x4 and i was wondering what is the biggest tires i can put on the truck i have stock 17in wheels?

35's are the biggest you can go, but you'd need to add a leveling kit in the front (really cheap to do). If you don't add a leveling kit, the
biggest you could fit would be 33's.

what would be like size of the tire? 315/70/17? if not what would it be?

315/70/17 is basically a 35" tire
295/70/17 is basically a 34" tire
285/70/17 is bascially a 33" tire

and 35s will fit on my stock 17in rims? i didnt know they were that wide but thanks

Yes, 315/70/17 will fit on stock rims. Of course the rims are not that wide, but they will still fit. Plenty of people over on F150online.com have that same setup (great place to learn about tire size etc), as well as this site and other F150 sites. But you will need a leveling kit if you want to fit that size, there is no way you'll fit a 35" tire without a leveling kit. Leveling kits are cheap though, i got my 2.5" Autospring kit for $65 shipped. If you don't have or dont want to get a leveling kit, then you will have to stick with 33's.

I also wanted to put bigger tires on my stock wheels ....a leveling kit sounds like the way to go ... especially if it clears 35's!!! :D

I second what Metal said but remember that if you have a 2WD and a leveling kit you can only fit 33's but if you have a 4WD and leveling kit, you'll be able to fit 35's.

35's won't fit a 2WD with ONLY a leveling kit.
