Okay so a while back I installed an amp and 2 skar audio 10s under my back seat. They are running at 1000 watts rms power. As well as my hids in headlights and fog lights and my light bar. My factory charging system isn't liking it. Some songs I'll drop to mid low 12s. I have 0 gauge wire for the big 3. My issue is the alternator + post. What size terminal fits it? My terminals that are on the wires are 1 inch wide with a 1/4 inch hole. They do not fit because of the little plastic spacer that the factory wire goes into to hold the wire. I tried and gave up on it because of this. I have free time this weekend so I plan on actually getting it done if I can figure out the alternator post. All the how to that I read don't talk about the alternator post. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Do you mean the plastic piece on the alternator post that is like a half circle?

Yes. That part blocks the lug from going on fully.

I took pliers and snapped it off when I did the big 3 on my Focus. Worked like a charm.

I might have to do that. I'll look at it tomorrow. I wasn't really wanting too. But I guess it really doesn't matter.
