I think he is talking about the new tire BFG has came out. I personally think they are a waste and I wouldnt buy them over all the other tires BFG has, to me it seems like there isn't a huge need for them with all the others that are available.

EDIT: if I took your post wrong I apologize, its 4:30 am here in KY so im half awake lol.

If the OP is talking about the new rugged terrains, then here is some feedback. https://www.f150forum.com/f37/discus...terrain-97941/

I know what he's talking about. I was making a friendly suggestion.

I'm on my 5th set of BFG ATs (3 different trucks) and they have never done me wrong. Excellent traction on every surface I went all over the area I hunt elk in up and down mountains an crossing creeks and washouts, tearing up the rocks with thick sidewalls last weekend . Never put it in 4wd once like I did on my old rubbers.

The BFG AT has been THE tried and true truck tire for 15 years now. They are dot approved as a traction device for snow, last 60k, and the only thing I can say is they aren't the best thick, clay mud tire.

The tires are seriously the s***.

If they had a larger size available i'd consider them. They are just a step above the Rugged Trail as far as aggresiveness and are not too bad on price.

Here is a link to my experience with these tires. They were very nice, I think I might have just gotten a bad batch on them.

I have seen other people having great results with them.

Default Being Realistic...

I was hoping for better reviews from Discount and even here, but I should probably man-up and look at what is REALLY important to me and not just what is "Nice-to-have". I figure that if I do decide to go muddin' or seriously off of the beaten path, I can buy some used tires mounted on some stealies or something. Realistically, I drive 99% on highway and city roads, with the occasional curb or grassy lot breaking up my all-asphalt and cement diet. Since I am in Florida, the sand that populates the beach (when you can find a beach that allows you to park on the shore) can be somewhat tricky. Thing is, my aged Rugged Trails have yet to get me stuck (thanks to the 4WD), so I may not need a more aggressive tire. What ends up being the most important to me is wet traction, low road noise, better fuel economy (through weight of tire, rolling resistance, etc.), 40k+ treadwear rating, aggressive looks, and still tow/haul the manufacturer's recommended payload (as I do load her up with stuff for home improvement). So, given those priorities, anyone have any experience that can enlighten me if this tire can make me happy? Is there a better tire?

I wrk construction in nw Louisiana and there's a lot of clay and sand on the houses we wrk on an plus I haul joint mud that weight 50 lbs a box 25 at a time and all I use is bfg at's and I love them low road noise great wear and no problem in clay or sand I can't recommend them enough for 99% highway with the occasional muddy trail haven't let me down yet
