1. 305/65/17's are equivalent to a 33x12.50 and the stock 17's are only 7.5 inches wide. You need an 8.5-10 inch wide wheel to safely run a 12.50 wide tire.

2. Not saying it can't be done, its just unsafe, not many tire shops will recommend mounting them, and your tire will wear funny.

3. To run that size tire, and assuming you have a 4x4, you will need a leveling kit to clear that size tire, but you won't have any rubbing issues.

4. If you're interested in buying a set of stock 17's, I have a set I'd consider selling

5. Lots of people run this size tire, in my opinion BFG A/T's are great tires and they'll ride great for you on and off the road as well as last you a long time

I have 285/70R17's on stock rims. They aren't as wide as I would like but oh well. I am only leveled no rubbing, not same size but yeah. As far as ride, on/off road and in snow...I will never by any other tire. I LOVE them! They are KICK @$$ in HEAVY rain too.

Stock 04 fx4 rims are 18's unless you have the old body style
