kbreese,
The Gotts mod will give a slight advantage only at wide open throttle.
A tuner will change the shift points and the throttle response considerably. The truck will feel like a different vehicle.
Look for a used (unlocked) Edge Evo or Gryphon tuner. Normally they sell for $150 to $250 on this forum and or Ebay, Craigs List.
They install in 5 minutes and then can be used with the canned tunes or you can enter your own parameters.

It might just be a difference in perspectives.

For the record, the Accord I mentioned is a 2015 Accord Sport, I think it has like 200 hp, and its a pretty light car. It accelerates effortlessly. My truck accelerates effortFULLY, lol.

I'm also used to my Mustang which is a beast, and before that I had a corvette Z06 which was even more of a beast, etc etc.

Even at a light today, a Prius outpaced me pretty easily. Granted, I was only like 70% throttle and it sounded like he was really into it, but I honestly think this truck is one of the slowest vehicles on the road. And for the record I had less than 1/4 tank of gas with zero cargo.

It seems like flooring it is almost useless, like past a certain rpm it just doesn't want to push any more. The truck wants to go at a turtle pace, and if you try and push it, its like making noise, but barely moving any faster. And the tranny is definitely fine, so don't think it's that.

Also, remember I haven't owned a truck in over 20 years. I am used to sports and muscle cars. But still, I try to put things in perspective. That's why I say the Accord accelerates easily, but not compared to my mustang of course. I still know it's all relative.

Anyhow, I'll probably just live with the way it is, but I'll look into the Grotts thing...
Idk know if this will apply to you, or if it even works.
I saw a thread on here, about a throttle relearn process. Turning the key to the on position, waiting for all chimes to stop, slowly press the accelerator to full lock, let it bounce back up and shut the ignition off. Repeating three times. Apparently it helps improve throttle response and some claim it to have worked.

uhhh heh

I have the 4.6 and a flow-master and it's not really loud but has that medium deep grumble.

I want more power as well. but I really really really wanted something that talked... kinda

Because I thought you were being mean and not very nice. Being mean and downing someone isn't helping them IMO.

I've owned both v8's in the 04-08 generation. The 4.6 is not underpowered in the right cab configuration. I owned it in a regular can step side, and it did fine. What you describe is throttle response, that can be fixed with a reputable tuner. The edge evolution will do wonders for you. It will fix shifts and throttle response. My 4.6 was great. Only had maintenance items done to it when I traded it in at 180k miles.

I will chime in with the tuner aspect too, used edge evolutions on eBay are about 250 but over seen them for about 100. My 07 XL with a 4" lift on 35's has plenty of giddy up. But I have regeared and built the transmission just due to the lift.
