Warranty is important to some, less important to me. Take an honest look at the stipulations/wording of the warranty, sometimes they aren't all they're cracked up to be. A lot of time, warranties are just a sales tactic and a source of major stress when you have an issue.

Other times you hit the jackpot.

Good advice here... The above mentioned brands are what the box stores sell. The warranty sounds great, but what they don't tell you is you foot the bill then they reimburse based of if the failure is due to the reman process (which more often times, it's not -imagine that) I tried looking up both companies... Seems there aren't alot happy with Jasper, the Powertrain company - I can't seem to find anything on either way. My opinion is still OEM here.

As others have stated, you will get what you pay for. If you get lucky, hey more power to you. More times than not, however, the cheaper options are just that, cheaper. I would go with a Ford reman myself, but then again I plan on keeping the truck. If you want to stay under 6-7k, why not look for a used truck that may already have had a new engine from Ford put in it? Or, better yet, a 4.2 2wd? One of the most dependable platforms out there... In the end, you're going to spend. It's up to you if you want to spend now, or later.

Or, in my case, they give you the correct head (with the wrong camshaft installed), which you don't figure out until its buttoned up and destroying a brand new 500 dollar cam phaser.

I will do whatever I can to cost these scum bags business. The replacement they send had broken off exhaust manifold studs in the head, and torn bag of oil dry left little pebbles all throughout the valves.
