Default Bed size

Hi first post here. I purchase a 2007 F150 Supercab XLT 4x4 and want to know what lenght bed I have without measuring the bed itself ( unless that's the only way). How can I find out, through the VIN or marked on some part of the truck. Thanks all and happy 150ing.

*Edit* As pointed out below, this method doesn't always work and depends on the cab style it seems like.

I was told a good gauge of bed size is to visually look at how much of the bed sticks out behind and in front of the rear wheel. If it looks like more of the bed is hanging behind the rear wheel than in front of it than it is a 5.5' bed. If it looks like about the same amount of the bed is hanging behind the rear wheel as in front, than it is a 6.5' bed. If there is more of the bed in front of the rear wheel than behind, than it is an 8' bed. See picture below for rough idea of what I'm referring to. I believe that to be a 5.5' bed. If this is incorrect, someone please correct me.

Dont all supercabs have the 6.5' bed? Screws are the only ones with the 5.5'er.

That looks like a 6 1/2 ft bed.

After looking at it more closely, I think you might be right. Perhaps I misunderstood when I heard of this rule of thumb. I'll edit my original post as not to confuse people. But at the end of the day its really not difficult to find a tape measure to get the bed length.

This is it.. so it's even in length behind and in front of the wheel and I measured it it's 1,828.8 mm or 6'-0"
