And with the mileage you had on the original belt and idler pulley, it was overdue for its replacement. No harm with that.
Stinks to be on the side of the road stranded because of a broken belt.

Whatever you do , don't buy remanned. The regulators in our alternators are crap. I learned the hard way not to buy remanned. Tried one, lasted about a day and it went to crap. Ended up getting a new MC and my issues stopped.

Bought brand new alternator. not MC... It was the alternator all along. BUT at least now I have new idlers pulleys, belt tensioner and serpentine belt...
