Default Battery Light ?

My battery light had came on twice in the last month but when I turn my truck off then back to run the battery light does not come back on. What is a possible reason this happens ? I do notice slight surging from time to time but battery is only 1 yr new and alternator is only about 8 months.

+1 on the alternator. My truck came with a "new" alternator from a parts store. The only way I got the battery light to turn off was to install a Ford/Motorcraft one.

Your right techrep, not a motorcraft alt. it came from autozone but it's only 1 yr old. Man that sucks but I do know it's warrantied so I will be calling today. Thanks for the responses.

Boy, AutoZone parts create these kind of problems all the time. My buddies constantly go and get their parts for brakes, ball joints, etc. when they say how much of a good deal it is, with a lifetime warranty, I have to ask them, "how many times do you want to do this job this month?" Even though they usually just brush it off, they end up calling me to help them do the job again within a month.

I have bought an alternator from them in the past and it was fine. Ran my big ***** stereo system for 4 years until I traded it.

Just replaced the alt and battery in mine last fall. Now I'm having issues with the headlights and interior lights dimming in and out when I'm sitting at idle. Also, when I'm running my heater at full blast, it will start blowing harder when as soon as I give it some gas and then will go back down when I come back to idle. This morning, the blower on my heater started to die out a few times while going 70mph down the road. Not sure if today's incident is related to the others, but I've definitely noticed some differences since I had the parts replaced last fall.
