Just replaced the OEM battery - not a bad run - 7 1/2 years. The OEM battery was a size 59. The replacement was a size 65N (850CCA). It fit on the plate fine but the plastic cover won't fit over the new larger battery. Does anyone know if there is an oversized battery cover that would cover the 65N?

I replaced my original Motorcraft size 59 battery with a Meijer brand series 65 battery which is made by deka. The plastic cover fit just fine with the bigger battery in my truck.

Id be tempted just to go without the cover If I were you. None of my old trucks had battery covers and I never had any problems.

Leave the cover off, problem solved.

Is the battery really bigger or is the cover just interfering with the carry handle that's included on many replacement batteries?

There is a larger battery cover, probably dealer only. I did the same battery upgrade as you did and threw out the old cover. No issues to date and that was 2 years ago.
