Battery or Alternator?
While driving the radio shut off, then the gauges quit working, then the air-conditioner.
Got a jumpstart and started home. All of the above happened again. Truck died when I put it in park at the house.
It's on a battery charger right now.
Battery or alternator?
I'm leaning towards the alternator...

Battery took a charge. And then it started. Gauge shows it charging. I did clean up the terminals & retighten the connectors.
We will see if it starts in the morning.

Its the alternator, and it will keep killing that poor battery until it will no longer take a charge..... with the battery now charged, the alternator is still bad, and the truck is just running off the battery until it depletes that...the alt wont be able to recharge the battery soooo the cycle will continue.

Do yourself a huge favor and pony up for the genuine article from Ford. I don't know why, but a lot of aftermarket alternators don't play well with the PCM and you end up getting a battery light that won't go away, even though the alternator is charging.

These trucks are oddly picky about alternators. OEM or Motorcraft rebuild.

If the alternator is still working but, not supplying adequate voltage to charge the battery, then most likely the brushes have worn. I got a set offline for $7.00 and installed them in 10 minutes. Went back to working like new and that was 2 years ago. I did experience the same scenario as yourself when mine went out.
If the bearing and pulley seem okay and there are no other obvious issues just inadequate voltage output, I'd just replace the brushes.
BTW, the battery and alternator can be tested with a multi-meter to determine if each has the right voltage output or not.
Just passing the info along that I was given and I hope it helps and you get it fixed no matter what you choose to do.
