Default base model rims/tires on 06 fx4

I searched but didn't get a clear answer.

I currently have 35" tires on my 06 fx4 with 18 factory rims.

I'm looking to pick up a set of work truck/ base model rims/tires for DD use and keep the A/Ts for hunting season.

Some that I've seen were 15 or 16 inch rims. Would there be a problem putting these on my truck. I know the bolt-patter is the same but did the Fx4s come with bigger brakes or anything that would hinder this project?

I don't think there should be a problem but nobody I know knows anything and I don't trust the tire shop. They'll sell you anything. LOL

or I'll keep the 18s on there a put some nice street tires on them and get some aftermarket 16s to put some nice M/Ts on.

I believe the smallest rim you can fit is 17" due to clearance issues with the rotors, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I have no idea on the size of the base model rims/tires though.

I think they are STX rims? Maybe?

The base model rims are 17's, they're standard on the STX & optional on the FX4 I believe (steels on the STX & alloys on the FX4). The steels would probably be obtained cheaper but the FX4's are more stylish.

I understand. I'm in the same boat aside from school. I got monday off and probably the friday after this one. Huntsville would cost me lots of money in gas then plus the rims. lol
