Yes. A hose is supposed to be attached to it and run to the underside of the bed.

Ok yea then that's where the water entered the hose was old and cracking so it was dangling so eithe way water would enter I'll go to homedepot and buy a hose so it won't happen again

Do a thorough job cleaning all the old fluid out. There is a shelf of sorts on the bottom of the differential housing when you crack the cover. This shelf retains quite a bit of fluid. Make sure you get all the old contaminated fluid out.

ok someone please help me today I'm changing my diff oil with advance autoparts 75w-90 syn oil to just flush the diff because its the only one with out LS (which is limited slip)in that vescosiuty but when i look for the 75-140 ( the one i need) syn oil they all say "LS" is it ok for me to put LS oil in a NON-LS diff???? I'm going to change to to a good brand but they all say LS?? help I'm only doing 75-90 to flush the diff and because I'm not sure about the LS oil in a NON LS

honestly i think it won't make a difference because the LS oil if for the clutches and since mine doesn't have the clutches it should be fine but i just want to double check before i get good oil.
