Also it depends on how you drive city. I have ridden with people who swore they were easy on the throttle and brake. Let me tell ya they weren't on and off the throttle constantly braking all the time. I got car sick...

I get 16-17 MPG city in the summer. 13-15 in the winter. I drive easy. I accelerated rather quickly and get into top gear and lock up and stay there. My city driving is rather easy. I can coast to most stop lights or roll through them on green. 45 MPH is the back roads around here. So thats perfect for fuel economy. low rpm torque converter is locked up.

I also have the edge cts, which bumped me up from 13-14 city in the summer to where I am now. Plus i lowered the torque converter lockup 3 mph, which for me and my speed limit helped out a lot.

When was the last time your plugs were changed? How many miles do you have on it now?
I keep my rpms under or at 2 thousand mostly I only hit 2100 if I really need to but besides that I'm always under 2 thousand Rpms and my braking I break fairly easy unless someone cuts me off my sweet spot is also 45 where in in o/d with the lowest rpms. I want to get a edge tuner and full exhaust and I bought the truck in November with 156,xxx miles and I'm not sure of the previous owner has ever change them over the summer I'm deciding to change the plugs

Matt good news. Mine is 2wd with stock fire stone destination LE2 tires. Not mud or off road tires.

Like I said before I don't take my time getting up to speed. I have also moved up my 2nd and 3rd gears meaning it will hold those longer. It keeps the engine in its power band longer. Not to mention that it is so much better driving wise. But I will take it to 3k most take offs. and get up to speed not like flooring it or anything but up to 45 in say around 5-10 seconds. That way I get it in low gear faster.

Just to mention also that I have full synthetic in my rear end gears and in the transmission fluid also. I just had all that serviced when I bought the truck as well as plugs and all filters and fluids. I just put on new front hubs and rotors. my intake and exhaust are stock, minus some muffler the other owner welded in. Looks like a flowmaster I think.

My highway is around 17-20 depending on how fast I drive. 65 with moderate wind I got 20. 75MPH i get 17 to 16 depending on these kansas winds, which rarely blow toward the direction you are driving
Maint and driving style will help out the most.

Oh welcome by the way. Cool site with a ton of info on these trucks, which are awesome. I love my truck.

The tuner was by far the best investment I have made on the truck, after all the maint was up to par And for all means get that heavy oil out of your truck now!!!

No more throttle lag, much better power. I run the premium tune basically because I get another 1.5 MPG with it, making it the same cost per tank on the average. Adjust for tire size, shift points, firmness tQ converter lockup, timing all that good stuff. Really made this like a completely different truck.

I got that edge CTS used from ebay for $200 thats why I got it so fast Couldn't believe that no body else bid on it!!!

Here is my thread on it. https://www.f150forum.com/f4/ford-f-...-again-213517/

Now post up some pics of yours!!!

my dad was talking to a friend who has a 2011 ford and he said he put headers back exhaust ( with new headers) and he had a friend reprogram his ECU computer and he's claiming way better mpg than stock and does anyone know good websites to get good headers that are more performance over stock

and should i spend money on headers with free flow cats or just keep stock headers and buy free flow cats and add a muffler and should i do true dual?? hopefully i could talk to my dad about the edge ETC programmer i was looking into that

ok soooooo……. i was just doing something out of curiosity and wanted to check m rear diff fluid level ok zoo i started to unscrew the nut one the "oil" started to come out it wasn't oil lol it was a milky gray color not black or dirty more like watery substance that was gray in color and i think this would effect my MPG just a small bit but i think my diffs would like a fresh oil change
