Agreed. The only thing I'd want from the 09+ would be the 6-speed auto. Other than that everything else on the 04-08s are fantastic.

Glad to hear you're all right. As with everything else the rebuild will be another adventure. Drive safely and avoid stupid *** chicks in stupid *** cars.

The 6 speed automatic transmissions in the new trucks are awful. The shift points and gearing on those trannys are poorly engineered, and the shifting can jerk pretty hard. Why would you want that on your vehicle?

Really? I'll take my new 6 speed over the 4 speed I had in my 08 anyday

It certainly can't jerk any harder than my current 4R75E. Mine operates quite well unless I'm hard on the throttle, then it downshifts hard enough to shake the truck. The two extra gears add far better fuel economy and my understanding is that the 6R80E will withstand a s**tload more torque than our current transmissions. If you haul 8,000lbs on a daily basis like I do then fuel economy and extra gearing for going up mountains would be an added benefit.

I wish I had that option. The only option I have is going from a 300HP Triton to a 345HP Hemi.

The good news is that I there will probably never be a better time to get a new grill and give your truck a new look.

The truck is fixed, has been for months. This accident happened in February. I posted updated pics a few posts back.
