Bad Breaks on the worlds toughest 1/2 ton
Whats the deal with the week *** roaters on the 2006 f150.
22000 miles second time around for breaks. Ive been driving fords here for 20 years, not towing. Wyomings not hot and im not heavy on the breaks. Ive heard this alot with the f150. This is my fourth one, I have had the f250 super duty, nice truck week tranny and eng. F350 was a beast. I still love the f150 spite the break problems. Any thoughs on this issue?

Just common Wyoming driving, no serious 4 wheelin, I have a fj80 for that.
Probably the easyest I have ever drivin one of my trucks. Im a contractor and just use it to drive job to job.
I have heard of probles with some of the f150 roaters

Paint it black
flyfish, if you have a heavy load in the bed then it can act the same as towing in the sense that your still putting more strain on the truck then you would of if you were driving a truck without extra weight

i had an 05 lariat and i took my truck in for a checkup on the breaks because the back left one was sticking and they changed all bakes, rotors, everything.... there was bigger rotors put on it when i recieved it back from the dealership... maybe it is a TSB..?? oo and i live in indiana and the truck only had 32,000 miles on it no hard breaking or anything

lol.. my brake issues
I've got an 06 Supercrew with almost 37k miles, from about the first oil change I had a horrible squeek in my front brakes. I say horrible, i'm pretty picky and this was my first 'new' vehicle, so any slight squeek was TOO much for me. I work an hour from where I bought it, so I had my mom/dad drop it off at the dealer I bought it from while I drove dads ranger for a while, they were to change the oil and check the squeeky breaks. I wasn't even sure which side was squeeking. It only squeeked at a certain point in the compression of the pedal. Long story short, they told my mom thats 'normal' and it'll wear off... (i was pissed). Took it to a dealer here where I live... they kept it for 8 hours one day, and had the wheels/brakes all tore apart, could not 'SEE' any issues, but said they'd be happy to replace the pads but they aren't covered under warranty (they made sure to point that out). I went 30k miles with at times a horrible squeek, sometimes it wasn't even there though.. finally, 3rd dealer I took it to I said look, i dont' care what it costs, when I pick this truck up it better not squeek lol. They replaced the passenger front rotor (we had determined it was that side earlier) and whah-lah... hasn't squeeked since. Now with 37k miles I'm starting to notice my brakes just aren't there like they used to be... i know its a heavy truck, but even the pedal is just really soft, and takes alot of force to stop. It's for sale now though, considering ordering an 08 lariat . We'll see. Just wanted to share my brake woes.
