Backup Camera not Working
I an doing a backup camera installation on a 2004 F150. I am using parts from a 2011 F-150 (mirror #BU5Z17700L) along with the cab hiring harness to the mirror. I am using a tailgate camera setup awell.
I have all the wiring diagrams and have tested my wires to be receiving power, but the camera in the mirror is not turning on.
In the mirror, I have #1 tapped into a start/run power source on the drivers side. I have #4 tapped on the ground located there too. #9 is tapped into the reverse power along the drivers side floor as well (believe it's a black/pink). then the #8/#16 into the camera at the back. even if the camera leads are wrong, i still should get a blue screen in the mirror, but when i hit it in reverse, nothing happens.
I'm wondering what the problem could be? could my reverse line not be strong enough voltage? i'm using a voltsmeter and get the same about of voltage at the mirror from the backup as i do from the start/run power. any suggestions or fixes. thanks....
