Default The Back of my truck is shaking.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but whenever i get up to about 50 it starts to shake. Its not constant. I can be going 60-65 and it will ride smooth but most of the time it will shake. It feels like it is coming from the back left corner of the truck. I don't think it has anything to do with the tires, i checked the pressure a week ago. Also the steering will will shake if you get up to about 65, but this does not happen every time (Happens rarely actually). Not sure what it is, but there is some liquid leaking from the rear differential (a very small amount).
Thanks for reading this. Could you you supply me with questions and answers on how to fix it that would be great.

Possible tire is out of round. Sounds funny but is possible. Check your weights on the tires, one could have come off and now the tire is not balanced. Lug nuts could be loose. If its leaking at the differential the seal is bad and you need to replace it before the rear end burns up. Shouldn't cost much for seal and rear end doping. Quick fix that can be done at home.

Check your u-joints, a bad tire would vibrate all the time, you can jack it up, put it on stands and run it up to 60-65 and see whats shaking.

It is a common problem on these trucks for the bed to shake at about 60-65 mph. Mine does it as well. There is a TSB report of this issue - http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/ti...sb08-24-02.pdf

I've had my truck for 5 years now and the only thing I ever had to complain about, was the 50 mph shake. When I first bought it, I had it in the dealers many times for this. They rebalanced everything. They even replaced all 4 wheels and tires. Nothing fixed it. Now I have to see what this "Frame Damper Kit" is and how it works. Thanks for the TSB.

Check your shocks or maybe just to much tire pressure for a truck with no load, tire will act like basketballs on a washed out road.

The frame damper kit is basically a weight encased in rubber that is suppose to balance out the shake of the bed. It is mounted behind the drivers side leaf spring on 04-05's and on top of the drivers side frame rail on 06-08's. I looked up the price on one for my 04 is was like $500+ if I remember right. I'll deal with the shake for that price. You would be lucky to find one in the junkyard because they seem to be not so common from what I've heard/seen.
