Aux input
I have a new to me 2005 5.4 lariett 4x4, the radio has a aux input button, but I cannot find anywhere to plug any thing in. My other veichle has an aux input that I can plug a headphone adapter into to listen to ipod etc. Am I missing something? Manual was no help, just states that it is for aux.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Aux input jacks were on 2008-up.
I have a 2006 with the same issue. The aux button is for factory installed satellite radio.... which if you have, you'll have a flat little black box-shaped antenna on your roof Just above your windshield on the pass. side.
The aux input connection on the back of the radio doesn't support any other type of aux cable that I know of.

You need to install a PIE adapter or equivalent into the harness.
This may help:

Fantastic question! I was wondering that myself. My truck has an aftermarket satellite connection, but the previous owner took the satellite brains with him/her.

I've never been one for fm transmitters, but this one is Bluetooth. My friend just got one and loves it. At $60, it may be a cheaper alternative to an aux interface kit. Plus, you don't have to even take your phone from your pocket or plug it in.

My 2007 XLT had the plugin in the dash tray. Take the radio out and see if the AUX plug is in the back of it.

My 2006 doesn't have that plug. Nor does it have a connection in the back. Only Sirius radio. But that's interesting that yours has it. I thought they started with the aux plug in 2008. Guess not.

The PIE adaptors are pretty expensive. And the Bluetooth Cig things usually crap out on me after a 6 months to a year. So I was fed up with buying them. I went with a Kenwood deck at boxing day for $250. It's got bluetooth, ability to connect a back up camera (which I haven't got around to doing yet), DVD/Screen which I will never use, but having the phone connect so I don't break the law is definitely worth it. And bluetooth my music from Iphone right over to it.
I was shocked at the price of new decks. You can get some no-name brand decks with all the features, good reviews, and they are super cheap. Buy whatever is on sale at Crutchfield.
