Atf

Has anyone heard of putting atf in your oil to clean motor or in fuel tank to clean?

This one guy posted on another forum that he used to do it to carbed engines...no way I would do it though , then or now.

I've done it with Seafoam... not sure how different they or how they'd react but I had good results.

Good results with Seafoam, that is. I'm not backing the ATF.

ive used atf IN THE OIL to help with a smoking motor, swells up seals.

Not recommended on todays vehicles.ATF is really high in detergents and will clean the carbon out of an engine. I would only use on a Carb. engine...It is also good to use on a carb engine by pouring down the carb while running if the vehicle was to sit for a long period of time..would keep the upper end lubed..
