Default anything good.

I get a lot of good information from this forum. I'm a newbie to fords....and I gotta admit, most of what I see here is bad news! I'm finding it rather scary that I bought one of these things(05 supercrew lariat 4x4) especially since it has some miles on it.....when all I see are bad cam phasers.....bad spark plugs......transmission problems......electrical problems ect...... Are these things really THAT junky?! I hope not.....so lets see some GOOD stories here....assuming there are some?

I agree. I just bought a 04 supercrew fx4 and I'm freaked out after reading a lot of post. My truck has 137k on it and I'm the third owner

Don't fret; a lot of the times, people come to look for solutions to their problems. There are threads (mainly picture threads) that show the true beauty of our trucks!

Think this is bad? Join a Dodge/Chrysler forum. This is nothing compared to that. This forum does have a slight lean towards negativity, but as was already said, most come here for solutions to problems. Nobody wants to spend 900 on plugs or messing with phasers or hubs, but that's part of any vehicle, especially trucks(4x4, awd, etc..). I personally have experienced about 70% of the problems most frequently spoken of and I don't pay stealerships, so this is the place I turn for info and fixes to problems.

you know what they say, people only come to the internet when they have a problem.

I Have not had problems yet and the people I know with these have not had anything major yet either.

I had a 04 dodge ram before. My fx4 but years ago I had a 97 f150 ran good. My stepdad and father inlaw both newer fords an no problems. I had my for two weeks and so far I noticed the rearend whines when on gas at speeds of 45mph to 80 Mohammed and when in gear at a light it just started to vibrate plus I have the common cam phazer noise. I've had chevys, dodges and fords there's good and bad in all

I have belonged to several forums, and this one is no different. There are issues with every vehicle. People use these forums to solve problems, like others have said, so you will find the most common problems here.
Just enjoy it, and remember you have this forum to rely on for any issues you run into.

Just a note...I followed a DIY here for the spark plug replacement and it went pretty smoothly. I did break 3 plugs, but it only took me an additional 15 min each on those three, with the right tools.

I agree that you hear the bad and not the good. When someone has a problem they look for help online. My son is a member of a Grand Prix forum, a Jeep, and a Buick. Looking for information/help solving problems. My truck has been great for the time I have owned it. No major mods, but the budget comes first. Enjoy your truck!

Bought my truck in 2002. It had 50k on it when I bought it. Its at 241,000 now.
Very reliable vehicles to say the least!
